Brighton, Hastings and the Newhaven port routes. Get the licence that pays for itself, with the medical and paperwork handled for you.
East Sussex driving work splits between the urban delivery and construction traffic around Brighton and Hove, and the port and freight movements through Newhaven. Coach and bus work is unusually strong here as well, with coastal tourism and school transport across the county, which makes PCV a serious option rather than an afterthought. Class 2 covers most of the local multi-drop and construction work, while Class 1 opens up the longer runs inland. East Sussex learners train with us in Kent, and we tell you that before you book rather than after.

Hastings (Ore) LGV. East Sussex candidates generally use Hastings. It is worth knowing that Hastings is also the fallback centre the DVSA offers east Kent candidates since Hersden closed — which tells you how thinly lorry testing is spread along this coast.
Hastings. Hastings is the only theory test centre in East Sussex, and it doubles as the county lorry practical centre. For a large, largely rural county that is a single point of access for both stages.
East Sussex learners are placed at a centre with the right vehicle and instructor for their category; for many the Kent centres are the nearest practical option up the A21.
the A21 north from Hastings, the A27 west through Lewes, and the A259 along the coast.
Newhaven port, the construction and aggregate trade along the A27, and agricultural haulage inland make up most of East Sussex’s freight work.
